So, recently I have been reminded that Jesus first commanded us to follow him, nothing more extravagent than that. If we follow him, everything else is covered. Especially throughout Matthew, Jesus says, "follow me." We think about all of the other commands: make disci
ples of all nations, do not conform, love others like yourself, but it all comes down to following Christ.
Sometimes I just need to be reminded of that. I am called to follow Jesus, to lay everthing else down, and eliminate anything in my life that hinders that goal. And so is everyone else. We are, all of us, called to follow. That is amazing to me. God is amazing to me; He makes things so clear and simple for us and we find a way to complicate them.
Totally distracted.
This blog is once again about the constant annoyance that we call money. First of all, a major praise, by the grace of God, I have received just over half of the support I need for my trip,$4,545!
So, when I first decided that for sure God wanted me on this mission trip, I was thinking God what an amazing thing to do; thanks for choosing me to reach out to your people on the other side of the globe. My next thought was God I definately need a money tree.
Then God reminded me that I belong to the largest, richest family of all, His. I do not need a money tree (although it would be totally cool). I have been reassured and encouraged countless times by God's grace and His people. I still need help, I still have a lot of money to raise, but I am half way there! God is good and He will provide, but please answer His call if He wants you to give. When we do not answer, we miss an opportunity to be blessed, and He uses someone else.
Again, I am so grateful and thankful to all of those that are praying for me and supporting me financially so that I can do what God has called me to do, follow Him.
Love and Peace

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
